It’s time to gather your towel and sandals and come bust a sweat with us as we celebrate the springiness of Spring!. Come naked, nude, wrapped in a towel, wearing your swimsuit, jean shorts and Tshirt, or rubber bondage gear! (eg. We don’t care what you wear.) If the last few years are any measure, expect there to be plenty of hot times, and lots of hawt women of all shapes, all sizes, all colours and sexual orientations.

We’ve rented over 2000 square feet of privacy for us all to sweat, play, shower, fuck, talk, and laugh. The space contains a video area (who’s got great dyke porn?), 25 lockers, two large dry saunas (hot and hotter), two large shower rooms (ever eat melon in a shower?), and 6 semi-private areas with cots.

Do it clean and sweaty, or make it mild to wild – there’s lots of room and anything goes! This ain’t no ladies spa though. It’s grotty and rugged and perfect! Flip flops, sandals, combat boots or other footwear encouraged. Don’t forget your towel (and maybe some old sheets if you think you’ll need ‘em for back-up)!

THE SPACE

This space is, unfortunately, not wheelchair accessible. Entry to the building is at street level. The event takes place in the basement down a long, narrow set of stairs.

There were so many whole different chunks of conversations starting, plus very good comments for folks, that I figured it needed a multi-page format like a wiki (a public multi-page  site that allows random strangers to type smart things into it).

He’d been sick for some time, with thyroid, kidney and heart problems. We’d been medicating him and giving him IV fluids but in the last short while he had been losing yet more weight and getting steadily worse.

Random and me

The night before he died, when I went to bed, just like always he barely waited for me to settle before he climbed a bit unsteadily onto my pillow, purring and kneading, turned a few times and curled up. That night he ended up lying with his fur up my nose and his tiny, bony elbow on my face. I let him. I’m glad I did.

When he died he weighed only about six pounds, but the hole he’ll leave in my life will be so much greater. A huge percentage of my last decade and a half, both waking and sleeping, has been spent with Random either sitting somewhere upon my body or somewhere underfoot and I have no words to describe how much I’ll miss him; his Siamese opera singing; his paw patting my cheek; his terrible breath when he insisted on licking my nose. I know Vanessa’s going to miss him too.

Random was the best cat I ever met, and the most chock-full of love. As cats and humans go, we loved each other well.

G’bye, my best furry buddy. I wish you could have lived forever.

Eureka Contour light-duty household vacuum cleaner. Bought it new. Had it a year or so, only have one 8 X 10 ft rug in my whole house, so it’s seen very light use indeed. Moving in with GF, and she’s already got one of these newfangled devices, so I don’t need mine.

I wish I could say something else exciting about it, but c’mon, it’s a vacuum cleaner that looks like a sports car. How much more exciting can it get?

It was one of those dreams where everyone you know makes an appearance, and over the course of the dream I met and talked with many folks I love. Dreams follow habits, it seems, and we were all busy with some sort of event-creation in a hall of sorts, but preparation went on in an unhurried and uncomplicated manner, and everyone I met had a playful smile and a word of kindness. The doors of the hall stood open as we worked inside, because the weather was perfect; warm, breezy, blue skies. The trees were green and lush.

Dreaming onward, I walked outside and saw someone laughing and talking with a woman with long, full, silver hair. Just like Catherine’s hair, I thought, torn between nostalgia and sadness. And then the woman turned to face me, and it was Catherine.

Unbelieving, I stumbled forward, and she walked to me with a smile somehow full of understanding of all the pain I had felt for the last year.

I put my arms around her and squeezed her with all the love in me, and felt her sweet and solid self, warmed by sunlight. The gentle breeze blew her so-familiar hair across my face. She felt perfectly real and present. My heart swelled with uncomprehending joy.

And then sorrow broke over me, and I knew my dear, dear friend was dead. I knew I would never hold her in this way again.

And I cried. I cried in my dream until I woke myself up, and I cried wordlessly in the night until my lover woke and comforted me, not yet knowing the exact source of my pain, but holding me nonetheless. And I cried all that day and the next and the next, because the dream had felt so real that it made her loss feel fresh.

It’s generally my way to mourn privately, and this past year has seen most of my tears shed alone. But today there are so many people I love who have Catherine very much on their minds, that I decided to share. Because we’re not truly alone when we reach out to each other, are we?

O Catherine, beloved friend, I will always miss you.

Catherine White Holman

It’s a notepad replacement, and I’ve been using it for years. One stitches it into Windows and it out-performs Notepad. I’ve inserted it into every copy of Windows I’ve used over the years, but it keeps getting harder to replace a “system file”.

The Metapad website has some instructions for inserting it into Windows 7, which work perfectly on a 32-bit (x86) OS. Trouble is, the 64-bit (x64) Windows 7 behaves a bit differently.

I’ve rewritten the instructions (originally provided by Brian Scott) to reflect what works on the x64 system. (I also emailed this to the author of the software, of course, but I figured I’d make it available right away in case others have this issue and need the code.

1. Rename the downloaded metapad.exe file to notepad.exe as usual, then copy it to Drive C (not inside a folder). Open an Elevated Command Prompt by clicking All Programs (in Start Menu) and Accessories, then right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.
2. Copy the following and paste it into the Command Prompt box, where it should run automatically. Close the box when finished and delete C:\notepad.exe.
