A Novel Idea

Every dyke and her dog is writing a novel, or in the process of thinking about writing one.

That's why I'm so horrified to find a novel in my head that wants to come out on paper. Damn.

I wouldn't be so alarmed if the characters weren't so... alive in my head, or the outline of the plot so clear. Then I could just put it down as a flight of fancy. Alas. I must at least make a start, and with any luck procrastination will take over and I'll never complete the thing, and thus escape the trials of novel-length publication.

So. The Novel I'm definitely not writing is not tentatively entitled Murphy's Law.

And it doesn't feature two strikingly dissimilar dyke characters thrown unwillingly together as they fight social injustice with tenacity, humour, and a bit of dyke sex. And it's certainly not set in Vancouver, and within Vancouver's legal system.

Okay? Glad we could clear that up.

Current stats of the non-novel:

theme: 100%

setting: 100%

plot: 85% outlined, but I know exactly where I'm going.

characters: 85% fleshed, some far more than others

first draft, portion complete: 0.3%.
(Yes. 1/300th of the novel is written. Woo.)

Estimated date of non-completion of the non-novel: When the temperature of hell reaches 0°C.

Over and out.
