Antique Oak Desk

oak-desk-17-webThis lovely thing has been in the extended family for aeons.

It’s a fully-operational flip-top solid oak desk. The flip-top part is shown in the various images — it’s one-handed operation. One is meant to screw a typewriter to the insert, and be able to convert the desk from recessed typing surface to flat desk.
It’s got six drawers, two pullout platforms, all with smooth action and that old-fashioned dovetail construction.

cons:
- The finish is a little scruffy.
- A segment at the very back of where the typewriter would sit (under the normal desk surface) is missing.
- The handle at the front of the desktop went AWOL sometime this century. Could be replaced, just was slightly better without.

oak-desk-11-webI’m in the East Vancouver area, near Nanaimo and 1st Ave. Nope, I won’t deliver. You have to come get it.

You’ll need: a truck or van, a dolly, and some strong helpers. It’s a brute. But such a beautiful brute.

Asking $200 OBO.
